Houston Safari Club Hunting Group!

Houston Safari Club Hunting Group! These young men have a lot of things in common: getting through their college courses, making ends meet with a budget, planning their careers. But the one common thread that seemed to run strongest is the love they share for the hunting experience...observing the wildlife, spending time in the field, walking through the tall native grass pastures, and enjoying the challenge of the hunt.

The weekend started on Friday at the rifle range testing the accuracy of the weapons, their shooting skills and the safe firearm handling habits of the hunters. A lot of fun was had just shooting and sharing the good-natured ribbing that is common among good friends. And they seemed to enjoy just being on the ranch and away from the bustle of college life.

On Saturday morning, everyone seemed to be a lot more serious and focused on the hunt. As the day moved along, the practice at the range the night before paid off...6 animals were harvested and each was taken with great one shot kills. After the hunt, time was spent honing the field dressing skills and meat processing skills that are part of the total hunting experience.

These groups of young hunters help remind many seasoned hunters where more time should be spent...passing on this wonderful hunting heritage to the next generation. Their positive attitudes, their love of the land, their willingness to learn about the ecosystems and proper management of the resources makes passing on of this valuable heritage enjoyable and comforting because the passion for the heritage is evident in these young people. We know that they will preserve the heritage and pass it on again when their time comes to be the "seasoned hunter".

We encourage and invite all of you that would like to pass on a heritage of hunting to your family or that would like to let us help to pass on that heritage to come visit the Patio Ranch. Let us help you and your next generation learn to "...tell a different hunting story!"

Best regards,

Gary Ploch
