Nubian Ibex
Nubian Ibex (Capra ibex nubiana) – This strikingly distinct wild goat’s historic range included Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Sinai, Israel, Syria and Lebanon. As with the other wild goats of the world, their habitat has shrunk with the expansion of human populations and the domestic animal populations that follow. This brownish-tan desert-dwelling ibex has legs that display sharply contrasting black and white front surface of the legs and a white belly. The males display a black beard, black dorsal stripe and horns with outstanding transverse ridges with lengths commonly from 37-42”. The females display much shorter horns with the same coloration minus the dorsal stripe and beard.
